In 1967, Roux followed his elder brother Albert to England and, later that year, they opened Le Gavroche in London, the first restaurant in Britain to be awarded three Michelin stars.
Five years later the brothers opened the Waterside Inn on the Thames in Bray, Berkshire, which also holds three Michelin stars.Roux has received numerous awards: he and his brother were once voted the most influential chefs in Britain and were both appointed honorary OBE in 2002. They have trained hundreds of young chefs, including Pierre Koffman, Marco Pierre White and Gordon Ramsay. “
