live to eat … fun and fine dining

Kacha Brothers’s personal gastroblog exists to share our fine and fun dining experiences. Our tasting journey takes us from native Bangkok, where countless Michelin chefs visit annually, to Tokyo , our favourite gastronomic city and Spain , the unofficial nation of gastronomy.

Our choice of restaurants is heavily influenced by , although not confined to, the Michelin Guide and the San Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurant Awards.  In the same way as the 3 stars restaurant rarely disappoint , the top 10 of 50 best restaurants ,in general, reflect the ultimate, state-of-the-art gastronomy. We live to eat at such places. From our experience, there are just too many 1 and 2 stars restaurant to take the guide seriously at this tier and it’s usually hit-and-miss, exception being in Japan, where we think some 2 star restaurants could easily be regarded as one of the best  in the world.

Many of our Michelin encounters came in the form of Guest Chefs. Although often replicating the same food as in their Michelin-starred restaurants, many factors contributing means that it’s never the same as the real thing. Hence our less-than-positive review of many traveling chefs should be taken with a pinch of salt. There are some non-star fun dining included in this blog as we indulge in both famous and hidden eating places from the streets of Tokyo to Barcelona.

At the top of the homepage, you will find the latest ‘Signatures’ post featuring our most-recent favourite dining experience, as well as a section which highlights the greatest dishes we have tasted –some that made us cry or wish we’d gone to heaven– simply ‘to-die-for’!

Bon Appetit!
